Dr. Behnam Tehrani is a specialty care physician board certified in interventional cardiology and cardiovascular disease at Inova Health System. He joined Inova with several years of clinical experience. He serves as the Co-Director of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories for Inova Fairfax Medical Campus and Co-Director of Inova Schar Heart and Vascular’s Complex Coronary Therapeutics and Cardiogenic Shock Programs. Dr. Tehrani's clinical expertise is in the management of complex coronary and peripheral vascular disease.
Dr. Tehrani is a member of Inova’s cardiogenic shock, coronary chronic total occlusion, pulmonary embolism and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension programs. He also serves on national committees with the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention. He has been an investigator in clinical trials for coronary artery disease, cardiogenic shock and pulmonary embolism management.
Dr. Tehrani became interested in interventional cardiology because of the opportunity to use catheter-based technologies and evidence based-medicine to work with the collaborative heart team and provide care to acute and chronically ill patients with cardiovascular disease.
A native of Potomac, MD, Dr. Tehrani resides in Northern Virginia. In his spare team, he enjoys spending time with his family, exercising and traveling.
