About Daniel G. Tang, MD

Dr. Daniel Tang is a board certified cardiothoracic surgeon who performs the full spectrum of adult cardiac surgery at Inova Health System. He joined Inova with more than 20 years of clinical experience. He has a special interest in the surgical management of patients with end-stage heart and lung failure. He currently serves as Director of the Cardiothoracic Transplantation Program at Inova.

Dr. Tang believes in providing comprehensive compassionate care to patients facing major surgery and life-threatening illness.

Previously, Dr. Tang held the Richard R. Lower, MD Endowed Professorship in Cardiovascular Surgery and served as the Surgical Director of Cardiac Transplant and Mechanical Circulatory Support at Virginia Commonwealth University. 

A native of Northern Virginia, Dr. Tang is happy to be home. In his spare time, he likes to run, bike, fish and spend time with his family.
