Dr. Kowalski completed her training at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in the Department of Radiation Oncology, where she served as chief resident. After residency, she stayed on as a faculty member, serving as Assistant Professor of Medicine and Medical Director of the practice’s Eastern Shore Requard Radiation Center in Easton, MD.
Her research efforts have focused on implementing advanced treatment technologies, improving treatment efficacy and decreasing side effects. She has published her work in peer-reviewed journals and has received awards for her presentations from the American Society for Radiation Oncology and the Society for Thermal Medicine.
Prior to pursuing medicine, Dr. Kowalski earned a bachelor’s degree from the Tulane University Freeman School of Business. A certified public accountant, she spent her early career as a financial consultant for a top-tier firm supporting multinational companies through financial and litigation hardships. She made the decision to change careers and pursue radiation oncology while caring for a close family member with cancer.
Dr. Kowalski looks forward to providing personalized cancer care to the residents of Northern Virginia using the most modern radiation technology.
In her free time, Dr. Kowalski enjoys spending time with her two boys doing various outdoor activities, traveling and experimenting in the kitchen.
