Dr. Jared A. Spitz is a specialty care physician board certified in cardiovascular disease at Inova. He joined Inova in 2022 and has been practicing since 2016.
Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Spitz was a clinical fellow in cardiovascular disease at New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York and a resident in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
In addition to general cardiology, Dr. Spitz has had advanced training advanced lipid disorders and has a particular clinical focus on advanced lipid disorders, complex cardiovascular prevention and cardiometabolic health. He has worked at Inova to build an advanced lipid clinic and has helped to create a comprehensive cardiometabolic prevention program. He sees patients with genetic and hard-to-treat cholesterol conditions as well as those with significant risk for heart disease who need comprehensive management of all their risk factors.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Spitz is actively engaged in clinical trials, in particular those focusing on managing cholesterol conditions as well as those focusing on cardiometabolic and preventive strategies. He also researches and publishes on cholesterol and metabolic-health-related cardiac conditions.
Dr. Spitz seeks to provide all patients with comprehensive cardiac care, utilize cutting-edge preventive therapies, and provide patients access to the newest medications and available clinical trials.
