Dr. Margaret (Marghi) Guarino, a physical therapist board certified in Orthopedics, has been with Inova Physical Therapy for more than 28 years, with over 31 years of clinical experience. She is the clinic director of IPTC in Centreville and Fair Oaks. She has a special interest in manual therapy, foot and ankle biomechanics and musculoskeletal sports medicine and spinal injuries. She is a functional dry needling practitioner certified through KinetaCore®. Marghi is a board certified specialist in orthopedic physical therapy by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Marghi enjoys spending one-on-one time with each patient, listening and learning about their physical restrictions and then devising a plan to meet their goals of active participation in their life or sport activity.
She is as an adjunct professor at Northern Virginia Community College in the physical therapist assistant program and is the Chair of NOVA's curriculum advisory board for the physical therapist assistant program. Marghi has been recognized by SAS, a leader in business analytics, for her use of outcomes in physical therapy. In 1995, she published an article in Isokinetics and Exercise Science, "Comparison of Two Exercises on VMO and VL EMG Activity and Force Production."
A native of Massachusetts and an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan, Marghi currently resides in Fairfax, Virginia, with her husband and two children.
