Maryam has been with Inova since 2005. She graduated from Tehran University in 1991 with a BS in physical therapy. She became a certified McKenzie clinician in 2005. It helps clinicians in both diagnosis and treatment of patients with any mechanical disorder in the spine and in the extremities. Maryam believes that most patients can successfully treat themselves when provided the necessary knowledge and tools.
In 2013, Maryam became interested in women's health programs. She has completed many courses through American Physical Therapy Association as well as Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, to improve her practice skills for the treatment of pelvic floor/girdle dysfunction and numerous other conditions affecting patients' lives.
She completed the STAR cancer Program Certification Course in 2014, and took the "Oncology & the pelvic floor" course (Female reproductive & gynecologic cancers) in 2015. Maryam is a certified clinical instructor from the American Physical Therapy Association. She is bilingual and speaks Farsi.
