Michael Datiles is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who first joined Inova Physical Therapy in 2021. Michael treats a wide-range of orthopedic patients, from young patients with low back pain to 80 year-old triathletes. His care includes working with chronic knee pain, spinal pain and dysfunction cases.
He attended the Catholic University of America for his bachelor of science degree in philosophy before attending George Washington University to earn his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Between these two degrees he lived in Asia and Europe and worked in multiple industries before going back to school.
Michael has injured every joint in the body from the neck to the foot/ankle, and has had major surgery requiring physical therapy, which served as an impetus to pursue the field. He played lacrosse and rugby, as well as trained in BJJ and powerlifting. He has extensive experience in strength and conditioning, and has an interest in neuromuscular facilitation and the IPA system of Functional Manual Therapy.
Outside of his time in the clinic, Michael trains in martial arts such as boxing, Muay Thai and BJJ. He enjoys kayaking, canoeing, body surfing and anything in the water.
