About Ria Monica R. Valencia, MD

Dr. Ria Valencia is a primary care physician board certified in family medicine at Inova Health System. She joined Inova in 2021 and has been practicing since 2010.

Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Valencia was an outpatient primary care physician in Springfield, OR.

Dr. Valencia has a clinical interest in women’s care, preventive care, and the management of chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. She enjoys working with women and geriatric patient populations.

Dr. Valencia believes that collaborating with patients in a medical team concept is key to providing excellent quality care. For a good patient-doctor relationship to thrive, there should be mutual respect and trust, which starts with getting to know the patient as a whole person. Dr. Valencia strives to provide compassionate and competent care to her patients, giving them the necessary information and education to enable them to make personalized, well-grounded decisions about their health.

Outside of work, Dr. Valencia enjoys biking, hiking, practicing yoga, and spending time with family and friends.
