About Sara B. Bruce, MD

Dr. Sara Bruce joined Inova after the completion of her breast surgical oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Previously, she trained in general surgery at Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Bruce currently serves as the medical director of the Inova Breast Cancer Program at Inova Alexandria Hospital. Originally from Maryland, she is happy to have settled in the DC/Northern Virginia area.

Throughout her life, Dr. Bruce has always been involved in a multitude of art projects. She feels lucky to have a career that allows her to combine the fine motor skills of her artistic side with her interest in biologic science. In her spare time, Dr. Bruce enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons and dog, and tries to make time for painting, drawing and other artistic projects.
