Dr. Sepideh Khalilian is a specialty care physician board certified in obstetrics and gynecology at Inova Health System. She joined Inova in 2022 and has been practicing since 1999.
Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Khalilian worked at the OB Hospitalist Group Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center and Rappahannock Women’s Health Group. Her clinical areas of interest include minimally invasive surgery (especially robotic-assisted surgery) and bloodless medicine, as avoidance of unnecessary blood transfusion is of utmost importance in surgery.
Dr. Khalilian’s background includes working in various countries and locations with vastly different patient populations. Her patient care philosophy is to acknowledge and respect each patient’s faith, culture and individuality. Dr. Khalilian believes that patients should understand the risks to make an informed decision, but the ultimate process of healing and success are dependent upon the patient’s trust in the physician’s capabilities, empathy and acknowledgement of, and respect for, the patient’s requests.
Outside the office, Dr. Khalilian is an animal lover and enjoys the company of her two dogs and two cats. She hopes to volunteer at a pet shelter in the future and likes hiking with her beagles. She is also an avid video gamer and believes that it has helped her hand-eye coordination in laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgical techniques. Dr. Khalilian enjoys reading, especially science fiction books.
