About Sheila Khianey, MD

Dr. Sheila Khianey is board certified in cardiology and internal medicine with a focus in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology and vascular imaging. She joined Inova with 15 years of clinical experience. She specializes in clearly understanding each patient’s condition to provide the most customized care with a passion for the overall being of her patients. Her interests include coronary artery disease, heart failure, congenital heart disease and individualized medicine.

Growing up in a family of physicians, Dr. Khianey knew from a young age she wanted to become a cardiologist. Her focus is to translate her knowledge of how daily stressors impact the heart and coach her patients to prevent and manage it effectively to lead positive and productive lives. Her passion and expertise have translated into providing high quality patient care to heal by taking a holistic approach to the human body.

Dr. Khianey was named Top Doctor by Northern Virginia Magazine in 2017 and 2019. She also has been awarded Patient Centered Specialty Practice and Heart and Stroke Recognition by the National Committee for Quality Assurance.

She currently lives in Ashburn, Virginia, and enjoys travel and spending time with her family.
