LenSx® Laser for Cataract Removal
For patients who need cataract surgery, the LenSx® Femtosecond Laser System is a computer-controlled eye surgery system that performs all of the critical steps for cataract surgeries. The laser is used as a tool to break up a cataract and to create incisions in the cornea.
The LenSX system uses 3D surgical display, showing a more accurate view of the cornea than compared to traditional methods of cataract surgery. This display measures the shape of the corneal surface as well as takes into account the thickness of the cornea, resulting in the surgeon being able to make the most precise incisions possible.
Patient benefits of procedures done with LenSx include a personalized bladeless procedure, less amount of stress to their eyes during surgery, greater accuracy and precision (resulting in less chances of complications), and a smoother recovery.
Cataract removal surgery with LenSx® is available to patients whose eye doctors perform procedures at the Inova Woodburn Surgery Center (near Inova Fairfax Medical Campus), 3289 Woodburn Road, Suite 100, Annandale, VA 22003.
