In 2023, our nurses received 457 DAISY Award nominations, submitted by patients, families and coworkers in recognition of their extraordinary performance.

J. Renee’ Harris BSN, RN, OCN

Jonnie Renee' HarrisI have been a nurse with Inova for 21 years. I’m currently an RN unit supervisor, providing high-quality hematology/oncology care. My favorite part of being a nurse is having the opportunity to bond with my patients and their families as I support them through their cancer journeys. I recommend Inova because it is a health system that values nurses and includes nurses in the decision-making process at all levels, from the bedside to executive positions.

Sophia Pan, DNP, CNS, ACCNS-AG, CCRN-CSC

Sophia PanA nurse for 10 years total, I have worked at Inova for three years and am currently a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Inova Schar Heart and Vascular. In this role, I help ensure that nursing practice at Inova is evidence based and implement practice changes to improve our outcomes. Nursing is a career path with endless doors of opportunities. Inova provides so much support for nurses, from onboarding to ongoing professional development. There are many opportunities available within the organization to find your niche and mentors who will help you get there. Inova is an organization that is open to new ideas, so we can all be the best for our patients.

Theresa (Terry) Magnotti, BSN, RN, PCCN

Theresa (Terry) MagnottiAs part of the procedural cohort in float pool, I care for patients recovering from interventional radiology and cardiac procedures, as well as those preparing for open heart surgery. I have been with Inova for 13 years. I am dedicated to always bringing the very best care to my patients, including educating them to care for themselves whenever possible, and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team. We are absolutely stronger together. Inova supports nursing by investing in an exceptional way in the recruitment, retention and growth of their nurses. Inova also supports the health and well-being of all team members.

Shanta Paudel Subedi, MSN, RN, CMSRN

Shanta Paudel SubediI have been a nurse with Inova for 15 years. Last year, I joined the virtual nursing program along with my bedside nursing role to support bedside nurses and enhance patient outcomes through innovative care delivered via camera technology. I’ve found deep fulfillment in virtual nursing roles, educating staff in resuscitation-related training, getting involved in implementation science projects and mentoring staff. These experiences have shown me that passionate, committed work leads to personal and professional growth. Whether it's providing comfort during a difficult time, witnessing a patient's progress, or contributing to innovations that improve care, the fulfillment that comes from helping others and being a part of patients’ healing journeys is incredibly rewarding. Nurses have tremendous opportunities to grow at Inova.
